climbing down from one of the temples on the hills surrounding Haridwar -- you can see the city below us in the background, with the Ganges snaking through

a lovely swim in the Ganga -- following the local standard of women remaining fully clothed while swimming. The water up here in Haridwar was very cold and fast, having just emerged from the Himalayan mountains. When we let go of that chain we were swept downstream -- clamouring back onshore over a block away (only to run back to our waiting companions and do it all over again).

The view of the Himalaya from the balcony outside our room in McLeod Gang, where Ilan and I spent a week recovering from our sickness in Haridwar

Sitting in the Korean restaurant -- where they served veg/cooked tuna sushi on every Wednesday and Saturday (a mainstay, along with miso soup, in our recovery program)
